First Macmillan Coffee Morning for new Macmillan Libraries Co-Ordinator in Angus
ANGUSalive recently welcomed Hazel Freeman as the new Macmillan Libraries Co-Ordinator in Angus.
The position is funded by Macmillan over a 3 year period, and Hazel will oversee the Macmillan Information Hubs in Libraries and the new Macmillan Green Room at Forfar Library.
Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 27 September, where everyone is welcome to come along for a cuppy and tasty treat, which will help to raise funds to do whatever it takes for people living with cancer.
Since starting in the role in May, Hazel has attended a few training courses including ‘Psychological care & communication skills’ and ‘Help for helpers’. Hazel has also recently attended a conference at the Apex Hotel with the Roy Castle Lung Foundation which provided an overview of lung cancer treatment and support services across Tayside and Angus.
Hazel works with volunteers for the service, who provide information, support, prosthetic fittings, and holistic treatments to those living with cancer.
Hazel Freeman, Libraries Macmillan Co-ordinator with ANGUSalive said: “I’m really looking forward to hosting my first coffee morning to help raise funds for Macmillan. The funding they provide to help reach people living with cancer in Angus is invaluable, and donations at coffee mornings help to give a little of this back to this very important charity.”
