Aquapark FAQs
General – Sessions, Pricing, Clothing
We are set to open on 3 May 2025, with morning and afternoon sessions available. In peak summer we expect there to be some early evening sessions to be available too. Timings for slots will be released as soon as we have formed these up.
Sessions will cost £18.50 per person for all participants and will last 50 minutes. Each session will start on the hour, to enable a safety briefing at the start. If you book in a group of 10 or more, sessions will come down to £16.50 per person.
We recommend that you arrive at Monikie Country Park 40 minutes before for your session starts. This will give you time to be checked in, get changed and ready to have your safety meeting.
If you aim for 40 minutes, it also gives you that extra little bit of leeway in case you need to get some petrol before you make your journey .
Due to sessions running back-to-back, we can’t extend your time on the aquapark if you’re late.
So arrive early, we don’t want you to miss out the fun!
Of course you can, if you have booked for it! However, we reckon 50 minutes might just be enough for you.
If it’s raining, you’re going to get wet anyway!
But just so you know, our team regularly monitor the weather, and should there be weather warnings or thunder and lightning forecast in the area, your safety is always paramount and we won’t put you on the water unless it is safe to do so.
There is also a safe operating range for wind speed too, so please bear in mind that some sessions may be cancelled because of this, even at short notice.
In the first instance we will try to rebook you on to an appropriate date. If this is not possible, we will look to refund you in full.
All bookings are non-refundable. This is to ensure that we staff-up appropriately for our sessions and so the calendar of availability is clear to everyone to see.
If ANGUSalive have had to cancel your session for whatever reason and we can’t book you on to a new session, you will be refunded.
All participants will be provided with wetsuits and buoyancy aids to wear for the Aquapark. You’ll need a swimming costume for under the wetsuit, a towel to get yourself dry, and some cosy clothes for afterwards.
Of course! Each wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet used by the public goes through a strict cleaning regime. We even try our best to dry the wetsuits inside and out but this may be difficult on busier days.
Yes, you can bring your own kit at your own risk. Please show a member of the team your own kit before the sessions starts to ensure it complies with health and safety regulations.
No, but we will have grip socks available to purchase from reception.
Yes, however ANGUSalive accept no responsibility for any item lost whilst visiting our site.
The changing facilities and reception areas are located within metres of the water, which will be well signposted once you arrive at the park?
Yes, we cannot permit anyone onto the aquapark with any jewellery on. ANGUSalive accept no responsibility for any item lost whilst visiting our site.
We strongly recommend against this, however we will permit waterproof cameras if mounted to a chest harness at the users own risk and to be clear, these can also only be used at private sessions.

Who is the waterpark for – who can take part?
The minimum age limit is 6, with no upper age limit.
6-8 years must be accompanied on the feature by an adult with a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children (min height 1.2m)
9+ years no adult required (min height 1.2m)
Everyone is welcome to participate in the aquapark activity session but please note that participants should have the physical mobility to swim, climb, and walk to fully enjoy the experience safely. We need to be clear that using the Aquapark will have physical demands on it. You need to be able to swim to the feature which will be anchored roughly 25m from the land; you must also be physically able to pull yourself up on to some of the feature and be able to pull yourself up from out of the waterpark

Similar to the above, we want the aquapark to be available to everyone. However, we need to be clear that you must be able to swim and must be able to physically be able to pull yourself up on to the feature, and pull yourself up from out of the water should you fall off the feature into the water.
We strongly recommend that if you’re pregnant, you do not take part.
Like all our Countryside Parks, we welcome dogs but your furry friends will have to woof you on from the sidelines. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and we expect you to clean up after them.
About the reservoir the Aquapark will be in
We test the water regularly through visual checks and will have regular laboratory tests throughout the summer season. The ponds are also reservoirs, so we have the ability to regularly move the water around to accommodate a number of environmental benefits or challenges. For more information on our reservoirs, contact a Monikie Country Park Countryside Ranger who will be able to give you more information.
Yes, we have fish in our reservoirs. However, they are more likely to swim away from you than towards you, so you don’t need to worry.
We can also pinky promise you there are no jellyfish, crocodiles, snakes, octopus, sharks or anything else you may perceive as a dangerous animal in our water!
About Monikie Country Park, parking and ANGUSalive
No, this will have no impact on our ability to provide all other existing activities.
Open Water Swimming, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Canoeing, Windsurfing, Dook ‘n’ Chat, in addition to our on land activities will still operate as normal. Angling – run by Monikie Angling Club – will also run as per normal.
The carpark at Monikie Country Park is free and we are not going to change that. We are however a charitable trust and we would kindly accept donations from all visitors to our Countryside Parks.
You can absolutely make a day of it with us, with a range of water-based activities and land activities. Check our what we have to offer here.
We are fortunate that there is catering available through Café Byzantium which is based beside the information centre. We will also have a catering facility nearby the aquapark which is to be confirmed. You’re also welcome to stay as long as you like in the park, bring picnics and enjoy Monikie.
ANGUSalive is a sport, leisure and culture trust for the county of Angus. Since its inception in 2015, every year it has been able to secure an operational surplus.
