Angus Archives is the archive service for the historic county of Angus, preserving over 800 years of the area’s written, printed and photographic heritage. Based within Arbroath Library, the archives care for records relating to towns and communities across Angus, including the former burghs of Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir and Montrose. Collections include council and burgh records, school and poor relief records, family and business papers, photographs, maps and local history resources, making Angus Archives an invaluable destination for family historians, researchers and anyone interested in the history of the county.
