Library Membership Terms & Conditions
1.1 You can become a member of any of our Angus libraries provided you live, work or study in the county. You can also become a member if you live in one of our neighbouring counties, hold a National Entitlement Card, or belong to another county which is part of the One Card scheme.
1.2 You don’t have to be a member to study in a library or use any of our reference materials. Temporary memberships are available if you are not staying in Angus long.
1.3 If you are under the age of 13, you will need a parent or carer to co-sign your membership form.
1.4 We like to treat our members with kindness and respect and ask that you do the same. If you use words or behaviours which could cause harm or distress to other members, you may be asked to leave the library and your membership may be suspended. If this happens, you will receive a letter from us to explain.
1.5 If you lose your library card, please don’t worry! They can be replaced! Your first one is free but any replacements will have a charge.
2.1 All library items whether books, eBooks, audiobooks or eMagazines can be borrowed for four weeks.
2.2 Sometimes things get lost and that’s ok. All we ask is that you tell us and then either bring us a replacement copy or be willing to pay the cost of replacing the item. If not, we may have to suspend your membership.
2.3 There are no late fees in our libraries and all reservations are free!
2.4 Very occasionally, we may need to recall something that you have borrowed. If this happens, we will contact you and let you know why.
3.1 Using our computers is completely free!
3.2 Anyone can use our computers, even if you’re not a library member. If you’re not a member, you will be asked for ID.
3.3 Any time the library is open, the computers are available for use, right up until 10 minutes before closing.
3.4 You automatically get an hour when you want to use a computer but can book for longer. All you need to do is speak to a member of staff to get your time extended.
3.5 Printing is also available at all of our libraries and there is a small charge per copy. Details of the charges can be found on our website and in every library.
3.6 If you find a fault or a problem with your computer, let a member of staff know straight away so that they can tell our IT department.
3.7 If you are using our computers, you must agree to our Acceptable Use Policy. If you breach the policy guidelines, then we may have to suspend your library membership or your ability to use the computers.
3.8 You are welcome to use our free wifi when in any of our libraries but please look after your devices.
