About Us

The charity ANGUSalive is the culture, sport and leisure trust for the county of Angus and has been operating since 1 December 2015.

ANGUSalive offers residents and visitors to Angus a wealth of services which inspire healthy, active and creative lifestyle choices through the use of our sports centres, country parks, theatres and venues, museums, galleries, archives and libraries. We have six service areas which form our culture, sport and leisure offering:

Our People

ANGUSalive has around 250 employees, led by a chief executive and senior management team. The chief executive reports to the ANGUSalive board which comprises of five independent directors and four council directors who are Angus Council elected members.

Our Business

The charity ANGUSalive is the culture, sport and leisure ANGUSalive is the local culture, sport and leisure trust for Angus and we offer a range of services, activities and events. There are five key services including Sport & Leisure; Museums, Galleries & Archives; Theatre & Venues; Countryside Adventure and Libraries. We are not for profit, meaning every penny of profit we make is reinvested back into our services and venues to improve our offer for the local community.

Community Leisure UK

ANGUSalive are proud to be a member of Community Leisure UK which champions and protects the trust model by enabling networking and knowledge sharing with peers and external stakeholders. Community Leisure UK is the association that specialises in charitable leisure trusts across the UK and Scotland is a dynamic network within Community Leisure UK whose members are currently responsible for over 85% of Scotland’s publicly funded leisure and cultural facilities.

ANGUSalive is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital use of ‘limited’ exemption. Angus Council is the sole member of the company. It was incorporated on 27 February 2015 with Company Number SC499155.

The company has charitable status under Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 and the Scottish Charity Number is SC046133. The company was granted charitable status on 13 November 2015 and commenced trading on 1 December 2015.

ANGUSalive has a trading subsidiary Angus CLT (Trading) Limited which is a Private Limited Company incorporated on 17 March 2015 with Company Number SC500697.
