Our Digital Library

Discover thousands of books, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines, free with your ANGUSalive library membership. Whether you’re reading at home, listening on the go or catching up on the latest news, our digital library is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All you need is your library card number and PIN to start your digital journey.

If you’re not a member of our libraries but live or work in Angus, you can join here for an online membership to access our digital services.

You’ll need:

  • An active ANGUSalive library membership – either online or full membership
  • Your library card number – if using your NEC input the first 14 digits only with no spaces
  • Your PIN
  • A compatible smartphone, tablet or computer

Frequently Asked Questions

You can borrow up to 12 items from each digital service for up to 28 days.  If you have a full library membership you can also borrow up to 12 physical items for up to 28 days in our branches.

Yes, your online membership can be used to access all our digital services.  Our memberships do expire but you’ll be notified prior to this. If you wish to borrow physical items, please visit a library to upgrade to a full membership.

Yes, you can access all our digital services via your web browser, either on a phone, tablet, PC or laptop as below and sign in with your library card number and 4 digit PIN.

Yes, if your card has been used to register for your library account, but please only enter the first 14 digits of the card number with no spaces and your 4 digit PIN when accessing our digital services.

When you register online you will be asked to create a 4 digit PIN.  Please keep a note of this as it will be required to log into our digital services.  If you forget your PIN you can reset it here or if you experience further issues with your PIN please contact our team at enquiries.libraries@angusalive.scot 

No, Pressreader is free for all library members either via the Pressreader App, Pressreader online or through the Libby App.  Pressreader allows 30 days free access at a time.  However to continue using the service after every 30 days via the Libby App, go to Extras – Get

via the Pressreader App go to Accounts – Library and Group – Unlink Account – Sign Out.  Then Sign In – Libraries & Groups – ANGUSalive – Library Card Number – PIN.  This will re-activate your 30 days free access.
