Coaching and Education

Coaching Angus **Currently Under Review**

Coaching Angus offers locally based coach education assistance and aims to provide support to all applicants who are committed to developing sport at a local level, be it coaches or coaching assistants and volunteers.

Please note that a ‘coach’ is a person who has at least one coaching qualification. A ‘Coaching Assistant/Volunteer’ is a person who does not have a coaching qualification, but who assists qualified coaches. The Coaching Angus scheme will also offer members the opportunity to apply for grant aid support. Should non-members wish to apply they would first have to enroll in the scheme.

** Scheme currently under review, for further information please get in touch.

Education Courses

Courses available range from National Governing Body/UKCC qualifications through to UK Coaching.

The UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) is working with 31 national governing bodies of sport to agree an endorsement of sport specific coach education qualifications that are aligned to an agreed framework. By creating a recognised standard for coach education the UKCC makes it easier to identify a quality coach in any sport at any level. We are committed to hosting these qualification opportunities across Angus as well as working with partners across National Governing Bodies to access non UKCC qualifications.

The UK Coaching workshops and Children 1st allow the development of coaches at every level. ANGUSalive are committed to hosting a number of these workshops throughout each year. Information on these workshops will be listed on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Any coaches who live in Angus or work with an Angus Sports Club who are looking to gain a qualification from a National Governing Body (NGB) can apply for grant aid support through our Coaching Angus Scheme.
