Angus Gets Creative

Angus Creatives are delighted to present the third Angus Festival of Makers from 6 April – 31 August 2024 which celebrates the region’s creativity and thriving artist and maker community.

There are opportunities to see, try and buy fantastic Angus based art. The Festival offers a chance to see behind the scenes of creative spaces, talk to artists and perhaps buy some lovely new objects for the home. Visitors of all ages are welcome, whether you are already someone who loves making or want to try it for the first time, come along and join in.

The 2024 festival has been supported by The National Lottery through Creative Scotland and is also supported by ANGUSalive. This year sees a vibrant exhibition programmed to take place across Angus and running throughout the festival period. Specially commissioned exhibitions featuring Angus Creatives members include Sightlines at Signal Tower Museum, Lifelines at Meffan Museum and Art Gallery, Enrich/Adorn at Montrose Museum and Colours of Angus at Lochty Gallery at Carnoustie Library . All exhibitions run throughout the festival and are free of charge.

Meghann Logue, Museums & Galleries Exhibitions Lead for ANGUSalive said: “We are once again thrilled to highlight the incredible talent and creativity that thrives within Angus.

“The Festival of Makers not only provides a platform for local artists and makers to showcase their work, it also provides a unique opportunity for visitors to connect with their creative process, explore behind the scenes through workshops and talks, and even take home a piece of Angus-inspired art.”

There is a handy festival magazine that can be picked up from exhibition venues and through Angus Creative members. Be surprised and inspired by the arts and crafts that the beautiful Angus region has to offer.

Angus Creatives also have their usual Open Studios programme, you can check opening times at anguscreatives.co.uk .
