Angus Men Encouraged to Prioritise Their Wellbeing Through The Changing Room

Men across Angus are being encouraged to sign up for the latest cohort of The Changing Room by SAMH, a unique programme designed to improve mental wellbeing, build resilience and encourage long-term participation in physical activity.

The start date for Cohort 3 will begin on Monday 5 October 2026 and run until Monday 21 December 2026, with weekly sessions taking place from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Delivered in partnership with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), The Changing Room is a 12-week mental health literacy programme aimed at men aged 18 and over. The initiative has already seen strong success through its first two Angus cohorts, helping participants develop confidence, improve their understanding of mental health, and strengthen connections with physical activity.

Participants are welcomed into a supportive and safe environment where trained facilitators lead discussions around mental health, wellbeing and physical activity. Sessions provide the opportunity to share experiences, learn practical coping strategies and explore ways to live healthier, more active lives.

As part of the programme, participants may also be able to access a year-long membership opportunity with one of ANGUSalive’s PASS-accredited providers, helping them continue their wellbeing journey after the programme concludes.

The programme is open to men aged 18 and over from anywhere in Angus who are looking to better support their own mental health or that of others.

Ross Taylor, Community Sport Hub Coordinator at ANGUSalive and project lead for The Changing Room in Angus, is encouraging partners and community organisations to help spread the word.

“We know that programmes like this can make a real difference to men’s mental health, confidence and overall wellbeing. By extending the registration period, we’re hoping to reach even more men who could benefit from taking part.”

Anyone interested in joining the programme can find out more and book a place via : The Changing Room by SAMH.
