Pass It On returns to Forfar Community Campus for a celebration of Netball
ANGUSalive, in partnership with Active Schools and Netball Scotland, is delighted to announce the return of Pass It On, taking place at Forfar Community Campus on Friday 9 October.
Following the success of last year’s Women and Girls in Sport Week event, this year’s Pass It On has been expanded and is now open to anyone aged 8 and over, offering an inclusive celebration of netball and active lifestyles.
The free event will provide participants with the opportunity to take part in fun, engaging netball activities, develop their skills, meet other players and discover more about junior netball opportunities available across Angus through ANGUSalive.
Designed to bring together people of all ages and abilities, Pass It On aims to encourage more people to get active, connect with others and experience the many benefits of sport in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The evening will feature an exciting netball showcase, fun “come and try” sessions and a variety of interactive activity stations. Participants will have the opportunity to experience UV Netball, take part in netball-themed challenges, enjoy creative craft activities and engage with wellbeing-focused activities designed to encourage connection and conversation.
A number of local netball clubs and partner organisations will also be attending, giving participants the chance to learn more about opportunities to continue playing netball and remain active within their local communities. Away from the court, visitors can browse netball merchandise, enjoy refreshments and access information to help them stay connected with the sport beyond the event.
Attendees will also be able to find out more about ANGUSalive’s wider programme of sports sessions, activities and special offers available across Angus.
Ross Taylor, Angus Community Sport Hub Co-ordinator at ANGUSalive, said:
“We hope to see some of the girls who attend the event go on to join our junior netball programme.
Given this year is the 10th anniversary of celebrating women and girls in sport week, we want as many women and girls as possible to sign up for free and enjoy the event, but if we can raise awareness of the opportunities we provide and help more people become involved in netball, then that’s a fantastic outcome.”
As part of Pass It On, ANGUSalive will also be launching further Junior Netball and Walking Netball opportunities, helping to create even more pathways for people to get involved in the sport and stay active.
Pass It On takes place on Friday 9 October from 6 – 8pm at Forfar Community Campus and is free to attend for anyone aged 8 and over.
