See Arbroath Library in a new dimension!
A unique and imaginative attraction will be unveiled as part of the reopening of Arbroath Library on 6 May 2026 — a detailed LEGO model of the historic building, created especially for the occasion.
The model has been designed and built by Craig Pearson, Archives & Library Operations Lead, based on original plans and historic photographs dating from around 1900 (some artistic license has been applied). The result is a fun miniature recreation that captures the character and architectural detail of the library as it once stood.
Visitors will be invited to take a closer look, as the model is packed with playful features. A variety of recognisable characters are hidden throughout the scene, along with small, cleverly concealed details waiting to be discovered, making it an engaging experience for all ages.
The LEGO model will be on display in the Children’s section of the library and will be available to view when the library reopens to the public on 6 May 2026.
