Summer Reading Challenge 2025!
Fly High, Read Far, and Let Magic Fill the Air with ANGUSalive’s Summer Reading Challenge 2025!
Get ready, Angus! The beloved annual Summer Reading Challenge is due to take off once again, launching on Saturday 28 June 2025. This year, ANGUSalive Libraries invite readers of all ages to fly into six books over eight weeks where those who complete the challenge will earn a special medal and certificate to celebrate their achievement.
Lesley Matthews, Libraries Operations Lead, shared her excitement: “The Summer Reading Challenge is more than just a chance to enjoy great stories. It’s an opportunity for families and individuals to connect, imagine, and explore the world through books all summer long. We can’t wait to see our community reading together again!”
Building on last year’s incredible success, where over 1,100 locals took part and more than 12,600 books flew off the shelves, this year’s challenge is set to be even bigger and better. Whether you’re a fan of thrilling fiction, fascinating non-fiction, laugh-out-loud joke books, beautiful poetry, colourful picture books, or eye-catching graphic novels, the choice is yours.
David Main, Libraries Team Leader, adds: “Signing up is quick and easy. Just pop into your local Angus library to register and pick your six books. If you’re unable to get to a library, don’t worry as our Home Delivery Service has got you covered. Just send us an email, and we’ll bring the magic of reading right to your door.”
The challenge runs from Saturday 28 June to Saturday 23 August, giving everyone the perfect summer goal to read, relax, and have fun. With seven libraries, two mobile libraries, and a home delivery service, Angus is ready to read far and wide.
Can we beat last year’s record-breaking numbers? There’s only one way to find out! Grab your library card, pick your books, and let the reading adventure begin!
