ANGUSalive Launches Provider Accreditation Scheme for Sport (PASS)

ANGUSalive’s Community Sports team is delighted to announce the official launch of its Provider Accreditation Scheme for Sport (PASS), a new initiative dedicated to supporting and encouraging high standards in local sports clubs and physical activity providers across Angus.

Replacing the previous ACE scheme, PASS aims to raise the bar for safety and quality in sports and physical activity programmes by setting minimum operational and safeguarding standards. The scheme is available at no cost to any provider based in or operating within Angus, making it accessible to a wide array of organisations serving the community.

Accredited providers will benefit from a variety of exclusive perks, including priority access to block bookings at ANGUSalive facilities, as well as expert advice on funding and governance.

Building a Strong, Safe, and Supportive Sports Community in Angus

Ross Taylor, ANGUSalive’s Community Sports Hub Coordinator, highlighted the importance of PASS for the local community:

“At ANGUSalive, we’re committed to ensuring that everyone in Angus has access to safe, high-quality sports and physical activities. By achieving PASS accreditation, organisations can demonstrate that they meet key safeguarding and operational standards, which parents and users will expect.

“This not only provides peace of mind to their members but also strengthens their ability to grow and make a positive impact in the wider community. We’re incredibly proud of the excellent network of providers in Angus, and PASS will help them continue making a difference through sport.”

Benefits of PASS Accreditation

With a three-year accreditation period, PASS-certified providers gain access to professional support from ANGUSalive’s officers, who can assist with project development, funding, and governance needs. Additional benefits for accredited organisations include:

  • The ability to block book ANGUSalive sports facilities starting April 2025.
  • Eligibility to partner with local Active Schools Coordinators for school sports and physical activities.
  • Free access to spaces in ANGUSalive’s CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training programme.
  • Discounted access to ANGUSalive’s state-of-the-art gyms and newly launched Elevate studios.

A Simple Sign-Up Process

Enrolling in PASS is straightforward. Interested providers can begin by visiting the PASS webpage, where they can complete their profile and submit the necessary documentation. ANGUSalive’s team will review applications and work directly with providers to ensure all standards are met.

To further support the local sports community, ANGUSalive is offering drop-in sessions for any providers or clubs seeking additional guidance with the application process.
