Webster Theatre Expands Access with New Satellite Box Office at Meffan Museum Forfar
The Webster Memorial Theatre has announced a new initiative to make purchasing tickets more accessible to local residents and visitors, by establishing a satellite box office at the Meffan Museum and Art Gallery in Forfar.
Under the new arrangement, the Meffan Museum will serve as an additional ticket outlet, allowing customers to buy tickets in person for all upcoming performances at the Webster Theatre, as well as events hosted at Reid Hall and Montrose Town Hall.
The move is designed to improve convenience for audiences across Angus, particularly those who may find it difficult to travel directly to Arbroath to purchase tickets. By partnering with the centrally located Meffan Museum in Forfar, organisers hope to broaden access to cultural events and encourage greater community participation.
Ally Ogilvie – “Theatre and Venues Operations Supervisor” said “The collaboration reflects a commitment to making the arts more inclusive and visible across the region. We want to ensure that people can easily access tickets for the wide range of performances and events we programme, whether that’s drama, music, comedy or community productions,” they said. “Having a presence at the Meffan Museum helps us reach new audiences and strengthens ties between venues.”
Visitors to the Meffan Museum will now be able to receive information about upcoming shows, check availability, and purchase tickets on the spot, just as they would at the main Webster Theatre box office. The service is expected to be particularly beneficial during busy periods and for popular shows that may sell out quickly.
The satellite box office is now open during the Meffan Museum’s regular opening hours, Wednesday to Monday, 10:30 – 16:00 (closed on Tuesdays) offering a new, convenient way for audiences to engage with the region’s vibrant arts scene.
