Celebrating Scottish Women and Girls in Sport with Pass It On

Today (Thursday 9 October) we celebrated Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week with ‘Pass It On’, a netball event for 8 – 16 year olds at Forfar Community Campus, hosted in partnership with Netball Scotland.

Over 40 girls took part in the event, many of whom had never played netball before.

The Pass It On event was also supported by Active Schools Angus and Her Story had a stand to support girls and women in the community with free period products.

The girls who attended Pass It On were surprised with an exciting game of neon netball to top off the mornings fun.

Grace from Netball Scotland said: “Today was an absolutely brilliant day. We had over 40 girls in the hall, all just celebrating netball. They had an opportunity to play and learn the game, but also to share their hopes and dreams with us and about what they want to see for netball in the future.

“I think this is a really exciting start to all the netball opportunities that we have within Angus, and I just can’t wait to see how it grows.”

Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week celebrates being active, recognising that everyone’s relationship with being active is unique and finding what works for you.
