From the West End to The Webster: ANGUSalive partners with National Theatre Live
ANGUSalive have pulled off a major coup by securing a deal with National Theatre Live, allowing them to beam live performances of some of the biggest theatre productions in the UK at the Arbroath Webster Memorial Theatre.
National Theatre Live are a world-leading distributor of broadcast and filmed-live theatre where their productions have been seen by a global audience of over 11 million. They position their cameras for each production, working closely with technical teams to ensure every element on stage looks just as incredible on the big screen as it would being at the live show.
The agreement will see them show a combination of live broadcasts and pre-recorded plays, featuring big name stars such as Doctor Who star David Tennant, Hollywood A-lister Benedict Cumberbatch and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer. The partnership will also see visitors enjoy these marquee performances at just a snip of the price they’d be expected to pay at a live performance.
Scott McRuvie, ANGUSalive’s Cultural Team Lead said “We are absolutely ecstatic that we have managed to get this deal over the line. This gives us a remarkable opportunity to bring some of the highest profile performances – including the best of the West End – right here in Angus at an affordable price. We haven’t done anything like this before and we are very excited to bring this to the people of Angus and beyond.”
Leo Jordan, Head of Marketing & Distribution at National Theatre Live, said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with ANGUSalive to bring NT Live to audiences in Arbroath for the first time. NT Live allows us to share exciting productions with cinemas in all corners of the UK, and it’s wonderful to have ANGUSalive join this community of theatre-lovers and cinemagoers. We hope to see you at a screening this autumn!”
The first set of performances are already on sale, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s award winning ‘Fleabag’ being the first broadcast on 1 September with tickets set at £10 and are available at www.angusalive.scot
