Group Exercise helps Lorna shed 5 stone

Last month, a gentle aerobics class at Carnoustie Sports Centre, held a special class to celebrate and say well done to Lorna Smith for her weight loss achievement. Lorna hardly ever misses a class and last month she hit a huge milestone of shedding 5 stone.

With losing the weight, her fitness has greatly improved, her mobility, muscle tone and stamina is also so much better.

Lorna said: “ It was a lovely surprise at the class to celebrate my achievement.

“In September when I first started my weight loss for my daughters wedding in July, I never dreamed that today I would be 5 stone down and fitter than ever.

“A mixture of a good eating plan, Fiona’s aqua and gentle aerobics classes and the fantastic support of fabulous group of ladies has helped me keep going to achieve my goal. I feel on top of the world and today’s class was just so special.”

Fiona Joss, who leads the Aqua and Gentle Aerobics classes that Lorna attends said: “The classes have become most rewarding when I see people achieving goals, better health, both physically and mentally.

“The ladies who come week-in week-out have now become friends, and the feedback from them is very humbling. I do put a lot of preparation into the classes, with song choices and moves to suit the age and fitness of those attending.”

“It is quite daunting now that I’ve 60 smiling back at me, but it definitely is the best part of my week.”
