Himalayan Balsam Bashing! – Forfar Loch Country Park

Himalayan Balsam Bashing! – Forfar Loch Country Park

📅 Saturday 20 June 2026
⏰ 10:00am – 3:00pm

Join the Rangers to help tackle Himalayan Balsam, an invasive non-native species spreading throughout our Country Parks.

Himalayan Balsam grows rapidly each year and spreads its seeds widely, taking over woodland areas and preventing native Scottish plants and wildflowers from thriving. By volunteering for even a short time, you can help protect local biodiversity and support the health of the park environment.

Drop in anytime between 10:00am and 3:00pm and stay for as long as you can spare.

What to bring
Suitable outdoor footwear
Gardening gloves (spares can be provided if needed)

Meeting Point
On the lower loch-side path directly down from the Guide Dogs Centre. Look for the tall green Ranger Service flag.
