ANGUSalive Celebrates Turning 10 Years Old!

ANGUSalive, the culture, sport and leisure trust for Angus, is today (1 December) celebrating a major milestone as it marks its 10th anniversary as a charity.

Since becoming a charity in 2015, the organisation has supported millions of visits to its venues and delivered a wide range of activities, events and services designed to help people achieve its vision of “changing lives by inspiring healthy, active and creative lifestyle choices”.

In the build up to its anniversary, ANGUSalive has run a digital campaign that includes members of their team reflecting on what they have achieved at the charity and the importance of each of their services for local communities.

ANGUSalive’s website also has a dedicated page which traces some of their key milestones and achievements across the county over the last decade.

Kirsty Hunter, Chief Executive of ANGUSalive, commented on the significance of the anniversary:

“Operating for ten years as an innovative and vibrant charity is a tremendous achievement and a moment for all of us to celebrate. This milestone represents a decade of hard work, dedication and passion from our people, volunteers, partners and supporters across Angus. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together and the difference our team are making every single day. Our success is rooted in being at the heart of our communities as we exist to help people in Angus thrive. That purpose will continue to guide us as we look to the future.”

The charitable trust has attained some significant milestones and achievements recently. Their bACTIVE membership and popular Learn to Swim programme have both reached record numbers and earlier this year they launched Angus’ first ever Aquapark – Angus Aqua Splash – at Monikie Country Park which has proven to be a popular new attraction, with over 11,600 visitors taking to the water in its first year.

Kirsty – who was appointed as Chief Executive to lead the charity when it launched in 2015 – continued: “Over the past decade, ANGUSalive has grown, evolved and responded to the needs of our communities and it’s important we continue to do so. It is essential to remember that by choosing ANGUSalive, people are choosing to invest in their own communities as every single penny of profit we make is reinvested back into our services for local people.

We have so much to look forward to and our team will remain adaptive and resilient, building on the strong foundation we have made over the last decade which will stand us in good stead for the next 10 years.”

ANGUSalive have a busy festive period ahead as it prepares to raise the curtain on its annual panto, Snow White & the Seven Dwarves, at the Webster Memorial Theatre in Arbroath and unveil a fully refurbished fitness suite at Webster’s Sports Centre in Kirriemuir to complete a major investment across all seven sports centres in the last 3 years.
