Building a Healthier Angus: Students Lead Free Community Wellbeing Workshops

ANGUSalive Sport & Leisure’s Health and Wellbeing Team are working with students on placement from Dundee and Angus College and Abertay University to provide Wellbeing Workshops throughout March.

Food for Strength and Independence Workshop at Montrose Sports Centre is delivered by Bella, an HNC student at Dundee and Angus College. This friendly 5-week workshop is designed to help older adults stay strong, energised and independent. Bella will present simple nutrition advice, practical tips, and hold a relaxed group discussion. Food for Strength and Independence Workshop runs every Thursday from 5 March – 2 April.

Angie and Heather, 3rd year BSc Fitness, Nutrition & Health at Abertay University, will lead Stronger through Menopause Workshops at various locations throughout Angus. A clear and compassionate guide to menopause will be delivered through these workshops – what’s true and what’s not, and how lifestyle changes can shape long-term health. Stronger through Menopause Workshops run from 6 – 24 March, with morning or evening sessions available.

Kirstie Abbey, ANGUSalive Health & Wellbeing Lead said: “We’re delighted to support Bella, Angie and Heather with their placements. Not only does this assist them in gaining experience in their chosen profession, but it also gives us the chance to help support our community to stay strong and well.”

These Wellbeing Workshops are free of charge and there’s no need to book, just drop in. Dates, times and locations can be found at  https://angusalive.scot/whats-on/
