Pedal for Pounds
Carnoustie Sports Centre Spin class are holding a 24 hour ‘Pedal for Pounds’ event to raise funds for local causes on Friday 15 March.
Bruce Whamond who leads the class, decided to raise funds for Beth Greig and Maggie’s Dundee. Bruce’s idea quickly evolved into a relay with his class participants who wanted to help to keep the pedals turning.
Donate to either of these great causes, or pop down to Carnoustie Sports Centre from 8am on Friday 15 March – 8am on Saturday 16 March to give the team a rest and help the 24 hour challenge by taking over a bike for a while!
Beth Greig is a local swimmer for GB Down Syndrome Swim Team. She also donates her time to volunteering with ANGUSalive by assisting a swim coach at Forfar Community Campus. Beth self-funds her travels to competitions and events and monies raised through the 24-hour challenge will will help her to continue to do something she loves.
Maggie’s Dundee, is a charity which provides free practical and emotional support for people living with cancer.
