ANGUSalive announces major refurbishment programme at Websters Sport Centre
ANGUSalive, the culture, sport and leisure trust for Angus, has announced a refurbishment at Webster’s Sports Centre in Kirriemuir, marking the completion of its extensive programme to upgrade all seven of its fitness suites across Angus.
The refurbishment represents an investment of over £80,000 and will bring the installation of brand new fitness equipment, along with new lighting, flooring, graphics and a new colour scheme which is in keeping with ANGUSalive’s other gym refurbs.
This latest project follows the successful upgrades of fitness suites at Arbroath Sports Centre, Brechin Community Campus, Carnoustie Sports Centre, Forfar Community Campus, Montrose Sports Centre, and Saltire Sports Centre in Arbroath.
Colin Knight, Senior Manager at ANGUSalive, said:
“We are delighted to complete our fitness suite refurbishment programme with the upcoming transformation at Webster’s Sports Centre. Over the past few years, we have invested in our fitness facilities to ensure our customers enjoy the very best environment, equipment and support for their fitness goals and wellbeing. We’re looking forward to offering a consistent, modern standard across all our sites in Angus.”
The work at the Webster’s Sports Centre will begin on Monday 20 October, with the refurbishment set to be completed for a reopening on week commencing Monday 15 December.
ANGUSalive members, will be able to use nearby Forfar Community Campus – as well as any other ANGUSalive fitness suite during this time – as it’s included in their membership.
The swimming pool at Webster’s Sport Centre will still be open throughout the closure.
Lynne Haxton, Sport & Leisure team lead at ANGUSalive commented:
“It’s fantastic to see this level of investment across all our fitness suites, and I’m sure our customers will see a positive impact in Kirriemuir. Our bACTIVE membership is now sitting at record numbers – well above pre-COVID levels – showing that the Angus community, more than ever, are choosing to be active with us. The feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope that the improvements at Webster’s Sports Centre will encourage even more of the local community to get involved in our fitness and wellbeing activities.”
