The Chief: No Apologies – 2026 Tour
Coming to the Webster Memorial Theatre on Friday 17 April 2026.
Bams beware!
BAFTA award-winning star of Scot Squad, The Chief, and Absolutely, Jack Docherty is going on tour after packed-out Fringe runs in 2024 & 2025. The show will feature your favourite sketches from Scot Squad and lots of hilarious new jokes as The Chief dissects the state of the nation, from politics to policing, football to families, bams to biscuits.
The comic, author and actor will return as Scot Squad’s loveable yet hapless Chief Commissioner Miekelson as the country’s favourite cop is unleashed on the biggest towns and cities across Scotland following this year’s Fringe success.
Following BBC Scotland’s hit spin off, The Chief will regale audiences with his wit and wisdom, looking back on a career of righting wrongs, crushing crime, battling bams and most importantly, never…ever…apologising. The Chief is one of Scotland’s foremost figures, even grilling political leaders including Nicola Sturgeon and Douglas Ross and delivering his own Scottish State of the Nation as a festive pick-me-up in 2020.
Jack Docherty said, “I’m delighted to be performing once again as The Chief. He is, was and will always be, unapologetically, The People’s Chief – Leader of Men.”
Having starred in the hit show since 2014, The People’s Chief will perform across 20 towns and cities around the country, from Melrose to Inverness. The Chief’s huge ego, inflated sense of self and musings on modern life will set the scene for two hours of hilarity.
Following sold out shows and glowing reviews for this year’s The Chief: Still No Apologies Fringe show, this tour marks another exciting return to Jack Docherty’s character comedy roots. Having spent over four decades making audiences laugh on cult sketch show Absolutely in the 80s, entertaining stars on his 90s chat show or heading up Scotland’s national police force in Scot Squad, Jack Docherty delivers hilarious character work guaranteed to live long in the audience’s mind year after year.
