Celebrating 1 Year of PASS

This week, ANGUSalive’s Community Sport Team are celebrating 1 year of PASS.

Launched in November 2024, the Provider Accreditation Scheme for Sport (PASS) is a simple, single-tier accreditation scheme which aims to quality-assure the governance and organisational practise of sports club and physical activity providers who are based or operating in Angus.

The benefits for PASS members include access to an improved block-booking system, an opportunity to work with Angus Active Schools Team and access to free training on selected courses ran by ANGUSalive.

Since launching in November 2024, PASS has gathered valuable data on sport and physical activity across Angus. This includes:

  • 75 newly accredited providers
  • 27 sports represented
  • 705 sport leaders identified
  • 1138 active coaches and volunteers
  • 13,757 participants engaged

Keep your eyes peeled on the Sport & Leisure Facebook page for more about the first year of PASS throughout the week.

Ross Smith, ANGUSalive Community Sport Physical Activity Lead says: “We’re delighted with the uptake from providers to become members of our accreditation scheme for sport. The first year has proved to be a huge success, and we’re excited to continue working with both existing and new providers in the years ahead.”

Billy Wales, Brothock Shotokan Karate Club said: “We’re proud to display our PASS accreditation as a visible symbol of the club’s commitment to safe, high-quality coaching and continuous improvement.”
