ANGUSalive @ 10

This December, ANGUSalive proudly marks a remarkable milestone – 10 years of bringing culture, sport and leisure activities across Angus.

Since its ‘Go-Live’ on 1 December 2015, ANGUSalive has worked tirelessly across the county to deliver on its main charitable aim: Changing lives by inspiring healthy, active and creative lifestyle choices.

We believe we’ve delivered on that so far. And we’re going to keep going!

Over the past decade, ANGUSalive has transformed the cultural and leisure landscape of Angus, evolving from bold beginnings to a vibrant, diverse organisation that touches the lives of all ages and backgrounds.

As we celebrate this special anniversary, we invite you to trace your journey through key moments and milestones that have shaped our story, of which the Angus community has been a cornerstone in.

Remember, by choosing an ANGUSalive service you are choosing to reinvest into the Angus community.

Every single penny profit we make goes straight back into delivering and improving our services. Whether that’s brining some fantastic performances in our theatre spaces, upgrading our fitness suite facilities, helping to put petrol in our mobile libraries, putting on an exciting exhibition in one of our galleries all the way to helping us bring things like Angus Aqua Splash to Monikie Country Park.

And these matter more than ever. With the backdrop of challenges that all public sector bodies like ours face, your contribution is vital.

Scroll below to see what we’ve achieved and how you can support!

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to another decade of inspiration, creativity, and unforgettable experiences with ANGUSalive.

Let’s trace some of our milestones.

Why not find out what some of our staff had to say as we celebrate 10 years of ANGUSalive!

Libraries

Our libraries are a trove of imagination and we’ve been so pleased with what the team have achieved over the 10 years. We have watched children and families grow in our libraries where they’ve been captured by our ever-loved Bookbug sessions. We know how important a library is to a community, let’s check that out shall we?

Refurbishments of Carnoustie (2017) and Montrose Library (2018):

Over the past decade, ANGUSalive has undertaken significant refurbishments of three key libraries, transforming them into modern, welcoming spaces that cater to the evolving needs of the community. These upgrades include enhanced accessibility featuring the creation of flexible spaces for events and workshops. By investing in these physical spaces, we have demonstrated a commitment to providing high-quality services that adapt to the changing demands of library users, ensuring that libraries remain relevant and accessible!

Launch of Dementia Memory Boxes (2017):

When ANGUSalive first launched the Dementia Boxes in 2017, our aim was simple but heartfelt – to help people living with dementia reconnect with their memories, their loved ones, and their community.

Each box was carefully created to spark reminiscence and conversation, filled with familiar items, photographs, books, music, and memorabilia from different times and themes. Whether it was a childhood toy, a household object, or a tune from years gone by, these pieces of the past have the power to open doors to stories long thought forgotten.

Since then, our Dementia Boxes helped people right across our Angus county. We’ve seen first-hand how a small object or photograph can light up a smile, start a conversation, or help a person feel seen and remembered.

We’re proud that what began as a simple idea in 2017 has grown into a lasting resource of comfort, curiosity, and community for so many!

Glen and Isla are introduced (2019):

Glen and Isla are ANGUSalive’s mobile libraries, serving as vital lifelines to rural communities across Angus.

These mobile units bridge the gap for residents in remote areas who might otherwise face challenges accessing library services due to distance or limited transportation. By bringing books, digital resources, and library programs directly to doorsteps, Glen and Isla combat social isolation, promote lifelong learning, and ensure that even the most secluded communities remain connected to the cultural and educational resources that libraries offer.

Summer Reading Challenge (2019):

The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual initiative designed to keep young minds engaged and reading during the school holidays.

Participants are encouraged to read a set number of books over the summer, with rewards and recognition upon completion. This program not only fosters a love for reading but also helps prevent the “summer slide,” where children may lose some of the academic gains made during the school year. Moreover, it promotes family involvement, as parents and guardians often participate alongside their children – nothing like friendly competition – strengthening community bonds and supporting literacy development for all ages.

Bookbug:

Just who doesn’t love a bit of Bookbug?! The national initiative aimed at introducing children and their families to the joys of reading from a young age. In Angus, these free sessions are a cornerstone of early childhood development, offering interactive storytelling, songs, and rhymes that stimulate language skills and foster a love for books. And for new parents, Bookbug sessions provide a supportive environment to bond with their child, meet other families, and access resources that promote early literacy.

We have taken Bookbug everywhere with us – to the Webster Theatre, to Monikie Country Park and into people’s hearts. Here’s to more Bookbug!

Lend + Mend Hub (2023):

The Lend + Mend Hub at Forfar Library is part of a pioneering initiative by the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC), funded by the John Lewis Circular Future Fund. We were one of only nine libraries to receive this resource and we are so pleased that we are!

This hub offers free access to equipment such as sewing machines, overlockers, and embroidery machines, empowering community members to repair, reuse, and upcycle everyday items. By providing these resources, the hub promotes sustainability, reduces waste, and helps individuals save money during the cost-of-living crisis.

Macmillan ‘Green Room’ (2024):

The Macmillan Green Room was opened to provide a tranquil space in the centre of Forfar for anyone living with cancer to attend a range of non-medical clinics such prosthetic fittings along with holistic and complimentary therapies.

Macmillan and ANGUSalive have worked in partnership for over 7 years, and the Macmillan Green Room is the latest service to be offered by ANGUSalive and funded by Macmillan.

Macmillan are also funding a Macmillan Libraries Co-Ordinator who will develop the use and services the room provides which we are very pleased about.

The Therapy Room is the vision of our colleagues Lesley Matthews and Christine Sharp, who realised the difference a therapy room could make to people’s lives and saw potential for future development of the project.

The Therapy Room relies on volunteers to provide some of the beauty and complimentary therapies that the room will offer and ANGUSalive invite trained professionals in this area who are able to donate an hour or two of their time to the room and its clients!

Monifieth Moves to the MAC (2025):

In our latest move, our Monifieth Library said goodbye to their spot on the high street to a more contemporary location in the MAC (Monifieth Activity Centre) which has become an important part of the community.

Set at the seafront alongside some of our friendly neighbours, we have settled in perfectly and we love life down here. Come and see it for yourself and be one of our newest members down at the MAC.

PS, after you’ve borrowed your books, please take yourself to the cafe next door…they have lovely cakes!

Theatre & Venues

Over the years we have welcomed some huge names to our Angus venues. We have served up a whole host of different performances, from shows that grip your attention, and have you lost in its story, those which have you up and dancing off your seat, to the ones that have you wiping tears at your eyes because you’re laughing so hard at the comic on stage.

And let’s not forget our beloved Panto – oh no we won’t! – which has dominated our festive Christmas period.

Let’s take a look back at some of these names, shall we?

2015 Opening Show – Panto Cinderella

What better way to kick off being ANGUSalive than being thrust into festive season AND with a classic pantomime?

Our first ever show was ‘Cinderella’, which brought magic, laughter, and plenty of boos and cheers to the stage. Families loved joining in the fun, singing along, and watching the timeless story of the rags-to-riches princess unfold.

Did the crowd love it? Ohhhhhh yes they did!

And they’ve continued to do so ever since. You can get tickets for our next one here!

2018, 21st September – Iain Stirling

We got a text!

And it was to tell everyone we knew that Iain Stirling was coming to Arbroath.

The man behind the laughs on Love Island and an absolute comedy powerhouse on his way to superstardom, Iain Stirling made a trip to the Webster where he had the crowd roaring with his sharp wit and relatable humour.

2023, 1st & 2nd February – Janey Godley

We were humbled to be the first of the late Janey Godley’s comeback tour with two nights at the Webster in 2023.

Known for her sharp tongue and hilarious takes on life – particularly her voice overs of the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon during the Covid-19 pandemic, Janey brought her unique brand of comedy to ANGUSalive.

Over two nights – one of which including her own daughter Ashley – she had everyone laughing through her honest and bold storytelling in her return to comedy.

2023 – Launch of Theatre Star School

Introduced in Easter 2023, we were delighted to launch our very own performance school – Theatre Stars – welcoming young people of all abilities and backgrounds. Theatre Stars School’s dynamic classes are designed to develop youth confidence and improve health and fitness whilst learning fantastic performing skills in a safe and encouraging environment. All of this helps to develop important social skills for students to take with them into the real world!

All classes are taught by qualified coaches who will share their skills and knowledge of performing arts with participants.

And since it launched, the school has gone from strength to strength having two sell out shows – Madagascar Jnr and Annie Jnr the Musical.

Learn more about our Theatre Star School!

2024, 20th November – Tide Lines

A milestone ANGUSalive’s Theatre & Venue team with the sell-out of the Tide Lines in Forfar Reid Hall’s first ever ‘standing only’ gig. Our very own Scott McRuvie commented that being a paying punter that evening he had “totally forgot” he was at the Reid Hall and was one of the best gigs he had been to.

Tide Lines are a Scottish folk-pop band formed in 2016, known for blending the soulful storytelling and traditional sounds of the Highlands with the energy of modern indie rock. Originating from across the west coast and islands of Scotland, the four-piece band certainly gave us a night to remember.

We sent a videographer over to capture all the noise, you can watch it here.

2025, 22nd February – An Evening with Still Game's Mark Cox & Jane McGarrity

It’s not every day you get to have a chat with Tam and Isa!

We were so happy to have Mark Cox and Jane McGarrity with us, telling us stories from their time in one of Scotland’s most well-loved comedy programmes. Their humour, warmth, and nostalgic tales had everyone laughing and reminiscing late into the night.

2025, 22nd November – Peat & Diesel

Bringing a high-energy mix of folk, rock, and island spirit, Peat & Diesel had the crowd clapping and stomping along. Their catchy tunes and cheeky lyrics captured the fun and fiery spirit of the Hebrides, leaving everyone buzzing long after the last note.

Sport & Leisure

For the past decade, Angus Alive’s Sport & Leisure services have played a vital role in supporting healthier, happier communities across Angus. Since opening our doors, we’ve worked to make fitness accessible to everyone – offering welcoming facilities, inclusive programmes, and opportunities for all ages to stay active.

Whether it’s through our Learn to Swim programme, group exercise classes, gym sessions, or community wellbeing initiatives, our aim has always been to inspire healthier lifestyles and create spaces where people can thrive physically, mentally, and socially! Let’s look back at some of our achievements below.

The bACTIVE Membership & Fitness Suite Overhaul

Over the past decade, ANGUSalive has invested heavily in upgrading its fitness facilities – ensuring that communities across Angus have access to modern, welcoming spaces to support active, healthy lifestyles.

Six of our gyms have already undergone complete refurbishments, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, improved layouts, and inclusive designs that cater to everyone from first-time gym-goers to seasoned athletes.

The transformations have re-energised local fitness communities, providing fresh motivation and pride in the places people train.

We will finish that refurbishment later this year when Webster’s Sport Centre gets an upgrade.

We have had local athletes help us open up these new facilities including:

  • Lisa Aitken – an international squash player from Montrose
  • Hailey Duff – Olympic gold medallist from Forfar
  • Kelly Clark – Celtic Women’s footballer and Scotland internationalist
  • Jay Bird and Jess Norey – Arbroath FC footballers
  • Eva Finnie and Lyall Webster – Local athletes from Forfar

At the heart of the fitness suites have been our customers. The bACTIVE membership has been a cornerstone of our fitness suites. We are now at a higher ever memberships numbers and sit around 10,500 members across the Angus county which we are humbled by

And we’re not stopping there our final refurbishment is due to be completed later this year, marking the culmination of a 10-year journey to revitalise every ANGUSalive gym!

Reaching new heights at Brechin Community Campus

A real high point – quite literally – was the launch of the Brechin Community Campus ANGUS Rocks Climbing Wall.

This climbing wall opened new opportunities for adventure, challenge, and fun for climbers of all ages and abilities. The wall quickly became a hub of activity and confidence-building. It represents ANGUSalive’s ongoing commitment to innovation and to bringing exciting new ways for people to stay active right here in Angus.

If you’re looking to book in on these sessions, you’d better act fast as they go reaaaaally quickly!

Community Sport at ANGUSalive

We know sport has the power to bring people together, strengthen communities, and create lasting change and nothing says that more that the work that has been done by our Community Sports Team!

Across Angus, Community Sport Hubs have done exactly that – connecting local clubs, volunteers, and residents to grow participation and change lives through sport. These hubs have supported everything from grassroots coaching to inclusive initiatives that ensure everyone, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to get involved.

We recently launched the PASS initiative with ANGUSalive, our own accreditation which is given to clubs who reach certainly criteria and allows them a whole suite of benefits by getting accredited.

Be Active, Live Well Changes Lives in Angus

What began as a small, community-based initiative to support people living with long-term health conditions has grown into one of ANGUSalive’s most inspiring success stories. Be Active…Live Well has supported thousands of individuals to take those all-important first steps towards becoming more active, rebuilding confidence, and improving both physical and mental wellbeing.

From its very beginning, the programme recognised that starting – or restarting – physical activity isn’t always easy. Many participants joined while recovering from illness, managing a long-term condition, or simply unsure where to begin. Through the care and expertise of ANGUSalive’s specially trained Health & Wellbeing Advisors, participants have discovered that there is always a way to move that feels right for them.

Beyond the physical benefits, Be Active…Live Well has had a profound impact on mental health and social connection. Friendships have been formed, isolation reduced, and communities strengthened. For those living with or recovering from cancer, the programme’s specialist support and partnership with Macmillan has provided safe, empowering spaces to regain strength and positivity during and after treatment.

As the programme has grown, so has the team to meet the growing demand for this successful programme.

In 2025, Health and Wellbeing Lead Kirstie Abbey was invited to speak at an audience with Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer reflecting on their success.

Learn 2 Swim? You bet!

Learning to swim is a vital life skill – and for countless children and adults across Angus, ANGUSalive’s Learn to Swim Programme has made that possible.

Through structured, progressive lessons led by qualified instructors as part of a national programme, swimmers in Angus have gained confidence in the water, achieved key milestones, and developed skills that last a lifetime.

In a proud moment for the programme, it was officially opened by Scottish Olympic and Commonwealth champion Duncan Scott MBE. This would have been opened a lot earlier if the Covid pandemic hadn’t happened, but then… some things are worth the wait.

Recognising the importance of accessible swimming education in local communities. Today, our Learn to Swim graduates continue to inspire others to take the plunge and we have two fantastic (and very different!) examples of that.

Both of these stories picked up national coverage and rightly slow!

Launch of Elevate Studios 2024

What do you do when you’ve got an under utilised space in your sports centre?

You Elevate it. Quite literally.

Launched in August 2024, Elevate Studios was built to reflect the contemporary marketplace and offering a boutique, premium offering. Elevate allowed us to deliver a “group PT” experience: more coaching input, smaller class sizes and more 1-2-1 coaching time.

Based in Carnoustie Sport Centre and the Saltire Sport Centre in Arbroath we converted a squash court and a spin studio respectively to build a studio environment that feels immersive, energetic and precise. The programme includes top-tier global classes like Les Mills Ceremony alongside our own curated Elevate formats.

Elevate doesn’t just sit alongside our bACTIVE membership, it has enriched it by giving our community more options!

It’s part of a wider message too: We’re not sitting still. ANGUSalive is not resting on its past successes – we’re always looking to push forward by offering new, emerging products at the best possible standard!

What’s Your Story? Campaign

It’s important to us that every campaign we do isn’t about our services. It’s about the people who use them.

In 2025 we launched the “What’s Your Story?” campaign which gave us the opportunity to speak to some real people with real stories who use in this case an ANGUSalive sport centre as an important part of their life.

It was inspiring to hear some of the reasons why people used our facilities; from understanding that our group exercise classes had helped one member deal with his grief after the loss of his wife; to another who had been in a lowly place and had since shed 4 stone; to someone who described ANGUSalive’s classes as ‘better medication’ than his prescription medicine as he recovered from spinal surgery for chronic pain.

Whatever their individual circumstance, it was clear that is was important to them and their wellbeing which, given we are here to serve the community we are in, was humbling to hear.

Museums & Galleries

This year marks a decade of ANGUSalive and what a journey it’s been for our museums and galleries!

From the historic treasures of Montrose Museum to the maritime stories that echo through Signal Tower Museum, to the art, heritage, and heart found at The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery – each space has been a vital part of telling Angus’s story.

Over the past ten years, our museums and galleries have grown into lively community hubs – places where history meets creativity, and where every exhibition, artwork, and artefact help connect past and present.

We’ve welcomed visitors from around the world, worked with incredible local artists and historians, and shared the stories that make Angus such a unique and inspiring place to call home.

Along the way, our team have won significant amounts of funding that has allowed them to explore some amazing opportunities which have been enjoyed. We are steeped in history in Angus, and our team have helped us deliver it.

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Honouring History: WWI Commemorations (2014–2018)

Between 2014 and 2018, all five ANGUSalive museums took part in a moving programme of exhibitions and events to mark the First World War centenary. The Arbroath Signal Tower Museum lit up red in remembrance of the generation who served and sacrificed, while staff and visitors created handmade poppies that filled the museum with colour and reflection. Across Angus, our museum teams worked together to ensure the stories of courage and change from that era were never forgotten.

Festival of Museums (2018)

Our museums have never shied away from a bit of fun! During the Festival of Museums 2018, Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens Museum and the Arbroath Signal Tower Museum transformed into immersive experiences – with pirates taking over the Signal Tower and Covenanters re-enacting history right in Kirriemuir Square.

As Museum Lead Rachel Jackson put it, “It was quite a scene in Kirriemuir!”

The Syd Walker Panorama (2018)

That same year, Montrose Museum showcased something truly spectacular – the Syd Walker Panorama, a 62-foot, 360° painted view of Montrose Basin. Originally a record-breaking attraction in 1996, its return drew visitors from near and far. The artwork, lovingly loaned by Syd’s daughters Fiona and Kirsten, became a centrepiece of local pride and creativity.

Penguin Trail Magic (2018)

In the summer of 2018, penguin fever swept across Tayside and Angus with the Maggie’s Penguin Parade. A trail of 80 beautifully decorated penguins popped up across the region – including some that found happy homes in our museums. Arbroath Signal Tower, Kirriemuir, and Brechin Museums helped visitors navigate the trail, while raising vital funds for Maggie’s Centre Dundee.

(And who could forget ‘Peter Penguin’ dressed for Halloween!)

Spotlight on Arbroath’s Fishing Heritage (2019)

In 2019, the Signal Tower Museum unveiled something very special – two redeveloped cottages that were opened to visitors for the first time as part of the Spotlight on Arbroath’s Fishing Heritage project. Supported by Museums Galleries Scotland, Northeast Scotland Fisheries Local Action Group, and the Arbroath Common Good Fund, the project transformed the cottages into new exhibition and activity spaces. Complete with an in-house built fishing boat interior and displays celebrating Arbroath’s global industrial past, the project proudly showcased the craftsmanship and stories that shaped the town.

A Grand Reopening with the Royal Scottish Academy (2021)

After months of lockdown closures, The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery and Montrose Museum reopened in style with the Royal Scottish Academy’s “Ages of Wonder” exhibitions – the first time the prestigious displays had travelled to Angus (or anywhere in the northeast). The Meffan hosted The Art of Etching, while Montrose presented The Life School.

As Sandy Wood from the RSA said, “After the tough year we all endured, it was a joy to bring nationally significant art to new audiences.”

30 Years of the Meffan Winter Show (2022)

A firm favourite in Scotland’s art calendar, the Meffan Winter Show returned in 2022 for its 30th anniversary after a two-year pandemic break. Welcoming artists from across Scotland – from emerging talents to established names – the show celebrated creativity, resilience, and the vibrant art community that has long flourished in Angus.

Check out the current Meffan Winter Show!

Dog-Friendly Museums (2023)

In 2023, ANGUSalive’s museums truly went the extra mile for visitors – including the four-legged kind! All five sites – Arbroath Signal Tower, Brechin Town House, Forfar Meffan, Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens, and Montrose Museum – officially became dog-friendly attractions.

As Rachel Jackson, Museums Galleries & Archives Operations Lead, put it: “You won’t have to stand outside with the dog anymore – you can explore as a family.”

Visit one of our Museums!

Lighting the Way at the Meffan (2023)

The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery in Forfar shone brighter than ever thanks to a £48,000 award from Museums Galleries Scotland’s Capital Resilience Fund. The project replaced and modernised the gallery lighting, improving energy efficiency and reducing costs – though it wasn’t without a few surprises along the way!

Despite damp discoveries and plenty of dust, the team pulled together to create a brighter, greener future for the space.

Signal Tower Museum’s 50th Anniversary (2024)

Last year, the Arbroath Signal Tower Museum celebrated an incredible milestone – 50 years since it first opened its doors in the historic Signal Tower building. The day was filled with joy, storytelling, and even Olympic-themed games in the garden! With help from Auchmithie HAAR Living History Group, children’s storytellers, and local visitors, the celebration honoured the past while looking proudly to the future.

As Heritage, Learning & Engagement Lead Susan Curran shared: “We enjoyed a day of celebrations with visitors and the local community.”

Countryside Adventure

What a ride it’s been! Over the past ten years, ANGUSalive’s Countryside Adventure team has been out and about across our parks, waters and wild spaces making sure every corner of Angus has had the chance to splash, explore and connect with some absolutely beautiful locations in Angus.

From taking of the environmental elements of the park to introducing brand-new activities that get hearts pumping (and feet muddy), we’ve loved every minute.

So as we celebrate our 10-year milestone, we tip our hats to all the curious walkers, bold paddlers, volunteer heroes and nature-lovers who’ve taken the journey with us.

Here’s to many more adventures ahead!

Celebrating 40 Years of Monikie Country Park

To mark this milestone anniversary, Monikie Country Park launched a photography competition for local people and visitors to celebrate the beauty and enjoyment the park brings. Seventy-six entries were received, with twelve winning entrants and twelve runners-up selected to receive a copy of the 2022 calendar, which featured their winning photographs. ANGUSalive was delighted to have local Carnoustie-based artist Jim Dunbar on board to judge the competition. The calendar was also available to purchase at Monikie Country Park and other ANGUSalive venues!

Storm Arwen Clean Up

Mother Nature struck a heavy blow in late 2021 with Storm Arwen, which blew massive numbers of trees onto the path networks at Monikie and Crombie Country Parks, in addition to pretty much all of the county seeing major disruption.

We hadn’t planned for it. Nor did anyone. And cleaning this up wasn’t as simple as “just taking a chainsaw” to the damage to clean it up. It took time, consideration and.

We celebrated the re-opening of the path network in October 2023, a testament to the grit of the countryside adventure team and K&S Treecare to help us clear the paths safely.

In addition, some felled trees have remained to benefit the wide variety of wildlife and ecosystems in both parks, as they provide vital food and shelter which will contribute to the biodiversity in Crombie and Monikie.

We were glad when this re-opened again, and so were the public!

Stand Up Paddleboard Ladies

When ANGUSalive introduced Ladies’ Stand-Up Paddleboarding, it wasn’t just about adding a new activity – it was about opening the water to more women in a sport that’s often male-dominated.

For many, the idea of wet-suiting up, carrying kit and stepping onto a board for the first time can feel intimidating, especially in mixed groups. That’s why these women-only sessions were created: to offer a welcoming, confidence-building environment where participants can learn at their own pace, feel supported and enjoy the experience without pressure.

The result? A safe, empowering space that’s encouraged women of all ages – including trailblazers like 70-year-old Imke – to give paddleboarding a try, build new skills and discover just how liberating it feels to glide across the water.

It’s all about community, confidence and making room for more women to join the adventure. These ladies now what a buzzing What’s App group and love a wee social.

Healthy Steps Angus - game changing health walk initiative!

At ANGUSalive we believe that staying active should be simple, inclusive and enjoyable and that’s the heart of our free walking initiative, Healthy Steps Angus.

Designed to meet those who are currently less active, living with long-term conditions, recovering from illness or at risk of isolation, the programme offers regular, short, low-level walks led by trained staff or volunteers across the region.

These gentle strolls aren’t just about movement – they’re about connecting: connecting with nature, with neighbours, with the wider community. Participants benefit from improved physical health (better stamina, heart health, calorie burn) and enjoy the positive effects of fresh air, open countryside, and social camaraderie.

Launched with the support of partners such as Paths for All, Get Outside Get Active (GOGA) and Angus Council, the Healthy Steps Angus network spans sports centres, country parks and community hubs — helping more people make walking a regular and sustainable part of their lives. ANGUSalive+1

Angus Aqua Splash Launches!

This one is super exciting.

We started 2025 with a bang (or a splash, to be more precise!) as we unveiled plans to open a thrilling inflatable aquapark at Monikie Country Park. With the help of local primary schools at Monikie and Newbigging, the helped us pick the name: Angus Aqua Splash – a lasting legacy for all the children involved.

Opening in May 2025 – where the primary school kids were our first official visitors –  this all-weather inflatable obstacle course on the reservoir invited friend and families to have splash with us in the most picturesque of settings. It also created 9 new jobs for people to join our team!

We have an amazing opening season, with well over 11,000 people visiting us in the first year and we’re already excited for next spring when we open up again!

And so much more! Thank you for reaching the bottom – you receive 10 points for 10 years!
