Presented by Scotland’s original home of live comedy Gilded Balloon, this is the ultimate night out for comedy fans! Award-winning TV comedian, writer and Taskmaster Champion, Sophie Duker is our headliner following appearances on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Joining her is Radio 4 Comedy legend Jo Caulfield, described as “quite simply, a damn funny woman” by The Scotsman and the brilliant sketch comedian Mark Black. Viral sensation and charming Glaswegian Paul Black completes the line-up with Chris Forbes, star of BBC’s Scot Squad, as host. *Line-up is subject to change in exceptional circumstances. In the event of a line-up alteration, a performer of similar calibre will be added.
Sophie Duker
Sophie Duker is a comedian and writer whose favourite things include breaking hearts, taking names and telling jokes with the confidence of a cis straight middle-class white man. Sophie is a regular guest on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2) alongside appearances on Live at The Apollo (BBC2), Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Hypothetical (Dave) and The Last Leg (Channel 4). Sophie cemented her place amongst comedy royalty after winning the 13th series of Taskmaster (Channel 4). Sophie also has an impressive history at the Edinburgh Fringe winning the 2021 Funny Women Best Comedy Writer Award and she also appeared as one of eight comedians selected to be a part of Just For Laughs’ International New Faces line up for the 2022 Festival.
Jo Caulfield
Described by The Observer as “one of the finest female comedians at work” and by The Scotsman as “quite simply, a damn funny woman” Jo Caulfield can regularly be seen headlining the UK’s biggest and best comedy clubs. Jo’s TV appearances include winning Richard Osmand’s House of Games (BBC2) in 2025 as well as appearing on Have I Got News For You (BBC), The John Bishop Show (ITV) and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC). She’s also featured on hit radio shows Just a Minute (Radio 4) and Breaking The News (BBC Radio Scotland) as well as hosting a number of shows herself including It’s That Jo Caulfield Again and Jo Caulfield Won’t Shut Up (Radio 4). Being a huge football fan Jo has appeared on both “Fighting Talk” (Radio 5) and “On The Ball” (BBC Radio Scotland). She has appeared on BBC Scotland’s “Debate Night” and is a regular guest on Times Radio, giving her take on the news and political events.
Mark Black
A finalist in Scottish Comedian of the Year and star of BBC’s Pity Party, Mark Black has racked up millions of views with his dark humour and musical sketches on social media. Mark is a successful writer for BBC Comedy sketch shows and is back on the road for 2026 following recent sell-out shows at the SEC Armadillo and Pavilion.
Paul Black
Paul Black is a writer, director and performer known for his viral comedy videos which have gained millions of views on TikTok and YouTube. A nominee for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award and RTS Scotland Comedy Award, Paul is a comedian known for delivering his trademark mix of sharp observations, colourful characters, impressions and Glaswegian charm.
Chris Forbes (MC)
Star of BBC’s Scot Squad and award-winning comedian, Chris Forbes is one of the most in demand comics in the UK. As well as being a regular on the UK comedy circuit, Forbes has gigged all over the world from America to Canada to Australia to Norway.
Perhaps best known as country copper PC Charlie MacIntosh on BAFTA award winning comedy ‘Scot Squad’, Forbes has also built a strong following for his genius character creation, Duncan Murray – The Other Murray Brother. His sketches alongside Judy Murray have amassed over 20 million views online and the Live Duncan and Judy Shows have been total sell outs. Chris is also a four-time winner at the Scottish Comedy Awards.
