See The Changing Face of Carnoustie and District at Carnoustie Library
ANGUSalive Museums and Galleries are thrilled to host The Changing Face of Carnoustie and District, an exhibition in Carnoustie Library’s Lochty Gallery.
The Changing Face of Carnoustie and District exhibition is a joint project between Friends of Carnoustie and District Heritage and the Auld Carnoustie Facebook group. Members of the Friends of Carnoustie and District Heritage (FCDH) are also members of the Auld Carnoustie group and as FCDH hold regular public meetings and Auld Carnoustie possess a large collection of historical photographs, it was agreed to collaborate on the exhibition.
The exhibition showcases some of the changes that have taken place in Carnoustie, Barry, Panbride, East Haven and Westhaven over the last century and beyond.
John Stirling, Secretary of FCDH said: “The Friends of Carnoustie and District Heritage and Auld Carnoustie are excited to have this opportunity to hold a joint photographic exhibition to show the Changing Face of Carnoustie and District over the last 150 years. We very much appreciate the support received from ANGUSalive in enabling us to hold the exhibition in Carnoustie Library’s Lochty Gallery during December and January.
The exhibition highlights the many changes over the years and reflects Carnoustie and District’s lost buildings, railways, and the industrial and beachfront heritage.”
Meghann Logue, Museums, Galleries and Archives Exhibition Lead with ANGUSalive said: “We’re delighted to host this exhibition at Carnoustie Library. It’s always a pleasure to work with local groups and it’s great for the local community to get a chance to see the archives of images that show the changes in Carnoustie and surrounding area’s over the years.”
You can view the exhibition at Carnoustie Library from 4 December to 22 December 2023 and 8 January to 27 January 2024.
