Gym refurb set to start at Arbroath Sports Centre
Major refurbishment works which will start this Thursday (18 August) to upgrade the two main gym spaces at Arbroath Sports Centre.
Improvements to the gym facilities will include fully refurbished spaces with the latest gym equipment from Life Fitness and Indigo Fitness, as well as cardio and fixed resistance machines, multi-functional training rigs, colour-coded training zones and enhanced audio and visual solutions. The redeveloped spaces will also feature the latest technology including Myzone which syncs to apps and monitors workouts.
In addition, a newly refurbished dance studio will open at Arbroath Sports Centre this month, which will feature new LED lights, flooring and wall designs along with large screen and fitbox providing the ability to stream virtual classes.
This follows the refurbishments which have already been carried out at Brechin Community Campus and Montrose Sports Centre as part of a significant investment programme by ANGUSalive to upgrade and revitalise its Sport & Leisure portfolio.*
To enable this redevelopment work to be carried out, the gym at Arbroath Sports Centre will close from 18 August with plans to reopen from Saturday 24 September. Members can use any other ANGUSalive facility during the closure including Arbroath’s Saltire Sports Centre, Carnoustie Sports Centre and the newly refurbished gyms at Montrose Sports Centre and Brechin Community Campus.
Iain Stevens, Senior Manager for Business & Development at ANGUSalive said: “We are delighted with the new fitness spaces already delivered in Brechin and Montrose and we are looking forward to seeing the improvements coming to fruition at Arbroath Sports Centre starting with the new dance studio space.
“It has been great to receive fantastic feedback so far from members and visitors on the improvements made to our sports centres and hope that the investment will inspire more people to come and be healthy, active and creative with us in Angus.”
Julie Aitken, Operations Lead for Arbroath Sports Centre said: “The new dance studio space will be an excellent addition ahead of the exciting changes we’re making to the fitness spaces.
“The upgraded space will provide a modern area for live instructor-led workouts as well as a wide range of virtual classes as part of our new fitbox programme. The additional bonus with this space is that members can book it out to run a virtual class of their choosing and also local community and sports groups can hire it for training and fitness activities. We’re keen to be able to use this new studio in many different ways to benefit members and the local community overall.”
Other redevelopment plans for the ANGUSalive portfolio include redevelopment and upgrades to Carnoustie Sports Centre with more details being announced in the coming weeks and months.
