Outdoor Education
Outdoor Education makes a positive contribution towards achieving the four capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence. It also offers benefits in terms of new experiences, of cooperation and compromise, of healthy lifestyles, and of experiential education as a mode of learning.
Programmes can incorporate:
- A series of activities suited to the particular venue involving both adventurous activities and appreciation of the environment
- Reflection on what was achieved by each participant and what can be learned from the experience as a whole.

Staffing
The Outdoor Education instructors who will work with school staff are all appropriately qualified. Safety ratios depend on the activity chosen, and vary from a ratio of 1:6 – 1:10.
