Call for Sponsors for the ANGUSalive Sports Awards

Published: Friday 2 November 2018

The ANGUSalive Sports Awards celebrates the talents of athletes, teams, coaches and volunteers living or working in Angus. The awards are hosted and delivered by ANGUSalive, the culture, sport and leisure charitable trust for Angus.

Sponsors have an exclusive opportunity to play a part in celebrating sporting heroes across Angus and join with ANGUSalive in an evening of celebrations on Friday 8 March 2019 at the Reid Hall, Forfar.

Each year the awards have continued to raise the profile of sporting champions, many of whom have gone on to enjoy worldwide success, competing at Commonwealth and Olympic levels including those who have achieved individual successes. Last year’s Sports Personality of the Year Gemma Lumsdaine, was selected for the GB talent squad, training with the GB Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby squad this focusses on preparing athletes for consideration for the GB elite team. She went on to win silver in the Women’s Cup in Paris playing for a European Select team.

Gemma Lumsdaine, winner of the Sports Personality of the Year award 2017, commented:

“It is an incredible honour to have won Sports Personality of the Year especially with such tough competition. As a disabled athlete, to be recognised in a mainstream category is huge and shows just how inclusive the ANGUSalive Sports Awards are.”

Suzanne Steele, Marketing Officer, ANGUSalive commented:

“Without the support of our sponsors; we would be unable to run this event. I’d like to reach out to businesses in across Angus, Dundee and surrounding areas to get involved with the 2018 awards. Sponsorship of the awards provides a unique opportunity for you to engage with local audiences and has the potential to generate new business and improve local awareness. There is also the chance to celebrate; as a sponsor you will be provided with complimentary tickets for the evening – why not support a local cause whilst thanking your customers or indeed your team?”
