ANGUSalive Realigns Business Opening Hours

Published: Wednesday 29 August 2018

ANGUSalive, the culture, sport and leisure charitable trust for the county of Angus is revising its opening hours for all ANGUSalive venues to provide a more tailored service for its customers.

These operational changes have been identified through analysis of customer numbers, usage patterns, systems data, information gathered from other culture and leisure trusts in Scotland, ANGUSalive employee suggestions and, where applicable, patterns of opening for other similar venues across Angus.

The first changes to be rolled out will be effective on 1 November 2018 and are for ANGUSalive sports centres. All sites will close at 9.30pm during the week, aligning weekday closing times across all seven ANGUSalive sports centres. There are also revised weekend closing times for Saltire and Montrose Sports Centres which will close at 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Brechin Community Campus, Forfar Community Campus and Webster's Sports Centre, Kirriemuir will continue with their current closing times. There is no change to the time at which any of the centres open.

Also from 1 November 2018, Webster Memorial Theatre Box Office will be open 12-4pm Monday to Friday providing an additional weekday to purchase tickets and 10am-1pm on Saturdays. These hours will provide increased customer access and an improved customer service to complement existing 24/7 online purchases.

All libraries in Angus will have the same opening hours, removing half day closures and providing an additional weekday late night on Thursdays. Saturday opening will be consistent across Angus at 10am-2pm. These improvements to opening hours will be introduced during 2019 to provide more flexibility for everyone in the community to visit the local library at a time that suits them.

The opening hours of the five museums the charity operates will also change during 2019 to reflect seasonal trends. The attractions will open 10am-4pm Tuesday to Saturday from April to October and 10am-4pm Thursday to Saturday from November to March. Groups may visit by appointment outwith these opening hours.

Angus Archives will be open throughout the year from 10am-4pm Thursday to Saturday. These new hours will also be implemented during 2019 and will provide more flexible access with a new Saturday opening. Individuals or groups can arrange a visit to Angus Archives by appointment outwith these times.

Customers can continue to access the country parks 24 hours a day/365 days a year. Customer enquiries can be made to Monikie Country Park daily from 9am-5pm.
